This selection of 27 works explores the issue of social commentary in contemporary ceramics. Representing provocative critiques of current social and political inequities, the exhibition was organized around five themes: war and politics; social and human conditions; gender issues; environmental concerns; and popular and material culture. Featured artists included Akio Takamori, Toby Buonagurio, Nuala Creed, Michelle Erickson, Anne Drew Potter, Ehren Tool, Richard Shaw, and Paula Winokur.
Inciteful Clay was toured by ExhibitsUSA, a national program of the Mid-America Arts Alliance.
