Watercolor Paintings by Althea Wright
June 18, 2014 – August 30, 2014
As part of the Malinda Berry Fischer Gallery programming, the Postal Plaza Gallery introduced Watercolor Paintings by Althea Wright.
This exhibition featured the watercolor paintings by Althea Wright, a Stillwater-based artist and former Oklahoma State University faculty member. Following her retirement, Wright began to pursue watercolor painting. Having always been involved with sewing, interior decorating, and other creative pursuits, she has begun to explore painting only in the recent years. Many of her pieces are inspired by the beauty of nature.
To honor Malinda Berry Fischer's dedication to and advocacy for the arts, as well as her deep roots in Stillwater, the OSU Foundation and the OSU Museum of Art teamed up to provide a dedicated gallery space inside the Postal Plaza Gallery. Every summer, the Malinda Berry Fischer Gallery featured engaging exhibitions with a regional flair or local connection.
