Framing History: Highlights from the Oklahoma State Capitol Senate Collection
July 7, 2014 - October 18, 2014
Framing History: Highlights from the Oklahoma State Capitol Senate Collection celebrated paint, captured stories as well as created an impression of an historic event. The frames - works of art themselves - provided an opportunity to focus on each individual piece and created a window into a moment in time. In this particular collection, the frames created a window into an historical event.
After Framing History left the Postal Plaza Gallery, the Oklahoma Senate Collection was officially transferred into the State's records and would no longer travel. This exhibition offered a rare opportunity to view selections from the Oklahoma State Capitol Collection here at the Postal Plaza Gallery in Stillwater. We were honored to share the history and culture of Oklahoma while also celebrating the process of making art and telling stories.
