An ArtFull Decade: Celebrating 10 Years
May 28 – September 7, 2024
An ArtFull Decade: Celebrating 10 Years commemorates the museum's remarkable journey of collecting and engaging with art over the past decade. Since its inception, the museum has been dedicated to fostering a deep appreciation for art and providing engaging educational opportunities for all.
Housed in a historic building designed by R. W. Shaw and funded by the U.S. Government Treasury in 1933, this landmark served as a federal post office until 1978. Acquired by Oklahoma State University in 2010, we opened our doors to the public in 2014 as an art museum. Over the years, our permanent collection has grown to over 5,600 pieces through generous contributions, including significant donations from the Leon Polk Smith Foundation, the George R. Kravis II estate, the Saul Steinberg Foundation, and private donors. Our diverse collection encompasses a broad spectrum of historical, contemporary, and culturally significant artworks. The museum’s focus is on works on paper and modern and contemporary American art and design.
At the heart of our mission is education, fostering creativity, building community,
and promoting lifelong learning. Everything we do, from collecting to exhibitions
and programs, serves as a valuable educational resource and a platform for exposure.
We invite you to delve into our decade of artful endeavors and join us in shaping
our future.
